WASHINGTON, January 25, 2021 United States Representative Mike Johnson (LA-04) today issued the following statement on his appointment to the House Armed Services Committee:
“Louisiana’s 4th Congressional District is home to Barksdale Air Force Base, headquarters of the Air Force Global Strike Command, and Ft. Polk and the Army’s Joint Readiness Training Center, as well as the Louisiana National Guard’s Camp Minden Training Site and other military assets. I am humbled by the opportunity to represent the interests of these important installations and the courageous families who call them home. This Air Force partnership, while a recent development, is producing results on par with similar existing organizations that have a significant amount of experience. Air Force Global Strike Command has placed a premium on innovation and is leading the way in the Air Force setting the example for technology transfer and transition.
CE is an agile team of talented employees within the Cyber Innovation Center (CIC), a 501c3 not-forprofit business. Every day they act as partners with AFGSC headquarters under a Partnership Intermediary Agreement (PIA) relationship that allows them to work on projects alongside the headquarters to find quick and efficient solutions that directly benefit the warfighter and revitalize the Air Force nuclear enterprise.
BOSSIER CITY, La. Barksdale Air Force Base is right in our backyard. It s a given that there are a lot of important things happening out there to keep the country safe.
But what can be talked about in terms of the nuclear capabilities at Barksdale? When KTBS asked, the response was like a line from the movie Mission Impossible, I can neither confirm nor deny details of any such operation without the secretary s approval.
