The 419th Flight Test Squadron out of Edwards Air Force Base, California launched a practice round of the AGM-158 Joint Air-to-Surface Standoff Missile, known as the JASSM, from the bomber, according to a news release. The news of the test, conducted at Holloman Air Force Base, New Mexico, December 4, was first reported by Defense News.

Dr. Donna Johnson, Assistant Vice President for Academic Advancement and Partnerships at Louisiana Tech, has been selected to participate in the revamped Barksdale Air Force Base Honorary Commanders Program beginning in mid-December, further strengthening the University’s partnership with the home of Air Force Global Strike Command (AFGSC).
Johnson was inducted on base Dec. 10 and will serve for two years.
The goal of the Honorary Commander Program is to build and maintain a strong and lasting bond between BAFB and surrounding communities, and to expose community leaders to the mission of the 2n Bomb Wing and the crucial role of today’s military.
