OIC warns against dangerous effects of Israel s provocation of Palestinians
Pakistan
Sun, May 16, 2021
The Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) on Sunday strongly condemned barbaric Israeli attacks on Palestinians and warned about dangerous consequences of the deliberate inflammation of religious sensibilities and provocation of Palestinians and the Islamic Ummah.
A virtual meeting of the Ministerial Executive Committee of the OIC was held in which the forum adopted a resolution to discuss the aggression by Israel, the occupying power, in the Palestinian territories, in particular, Al-Quds Al-Shareef (East Jerusalem) .
In a statement following the meeting, OIC said that it had decided to renew its rejection and condemnation of the ongoing Israeli settlement, colonisation of, and establishment of apartheid system in the occupied Palestinian territories.

Secretary-General s remarks to the Security Council - on the situation in the Middle East [as delivered]
Format
We meet today amid the most serious escalation in Gaza and Israel in years.
The current hostilities are utterly appalling. This latest round of violence only perpetuates the cycles of death, destruction and despair, and pushes farther to the horizon any hopes of coexistence and peace.
Fighting must stop. It must stop immediately. Rockets and mortars on one side and aerial and artillery bombardments on the other must stop. I appeal to all parties to heed this call.
The United Nations is actively engaging all sides towards an immediate ceasefire.
