If you know someone interested in becoming a substitute teacher, there is apparently plenty of opportunity in Palm Beach County, and likely other parts of the state.
With some teachers fearful of going back into classrooms due to the coronavirus, the Palm Beach County School District is hosting its first ever Substitute Teacher Recruitment Coffee Chat.
The virtual event happens Tuesday at 3 p.m. on Google Meets and
pre-registration is necessary. Those taking part will be able to ask questions about becoming a sub.
Officials with the school district say there are nearly 3,000 substitutes in their pool, but only about a third of them are currently willing to work in the classroom.
