Kano State governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has directed with immediate effect closure of four tertiary institutions in the state.
This was contained in a statement signed by Hon. Commissioner Ministry for Higher Education, Kano State, Dr. Mariya Mahmoud Bunkure, a copy made available on Saturday to pressmen in Kano.
According to the statement, the Kano State Government under the able leadership of His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Kano State, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has directed the closure of some tertiary institutions in the state with immediate effect.

This is contained in a statement on Friday by Samuel Aruwan, Commissioner Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs, Kaduna State.
According to the statement, “Air platforms conducted armed reconnaissance missions over Maidaro and Sarari, in Giwa local government area.
“According to the reports, normal human activities were observed at Maidaro following thorough scans on the area. However about 3km southwest of the location, bandits were seen with large herds of cattle. They were engaged and neutralized.”
“Similarly, bandits with herds of cattle were observed just outside of Sarari, converging on some high ground. They were likewise engaged and neutralized.
Former senator representing the Abia North Senatorial District, Sen. Mao Ohiabunwa has slammed Smart Adeyemi, the Senator representing, the Kogi West Senatorial District over alleged insult on Abia State Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu.
DAILY POST recalls that senator Adeyemi and the governor had in recent times engaged in a war of words over a comment, referring to the governor as a ‘drunkard’.
Reacting, Senator Ohuabunwa in a statement, described the comment as an “uncouth, careless and derogatory outburst against the governor” adding “that Senate is not for thugs”
Senator Ohuabunwa who is also the former Speaker, ECOWAS Parliament said the insult targeted at the governor was against the entire Abia people.
