Prompt response by the city police and noble gesture of an auto-rickshaw driver has helped a family to trace a missing bag containing ₹1 lakh cash, here on Wednesday. According to police, two brothers from Lakshmi Narasimha Colony had reportedly left a bag containing the cash and other belongings. Immediately, they lodged a complaint with the police. The police traced the vehicle. The auto-rickshaw driver was also unaware of the bag, as it was kept on the backside of the vehicle. The bag was handed over to the victim. Police Commissioner Manish Kumar Sinha appreciated the police officers for their efforts in social media.
Nine held for smoking ganja in city

The city police arrested nine persons, including a rowdy-sheeter, in two different cases for allegedly smoking ganja at isolated places, here on Wednesday.
Among them, seven are said to be below 25 years of age. All the accused were produced in court and were sent to judicial remand for 14 days.
In one case, III Town police conducted a raid at an isolated place under Three Town police station limits, where they found six persons namely D. Durga Prasad, a rowdy-sheeter (30), M. Karthik (18), T. Tirumala Rao (18), B. Siva (23), M. Vijay Kumar (18), and R. Mossayya Babu (28) smoking ganja. Noticing the police teams, they attempted to flee but were apprehended.

Constant enforcement on wearing of helmet by the city police and COVID-19 lockdown has led to drastic decline in road accident deaths during the year 2020 in the city.
According to the statistics by the city police, fatal road accidents have reduced by 24% and road accident deaths have reduced by 21% in 2020 compared to 2019. In the year 2019, the total number of MV Act cases booked were 10.38 lakh, but in 2020, they were close to 14.38 lakh.
