7 dead, 446 test positive in Ludhiana

813 Tribune News Service Ludhiana, April 4 A total of 446 persons tested positive for Covid today while seven succumbed to the virus. Such a sudden spike was noticed last year in September, when 462 people had tested positive for Covid in a day. Those who lost their lives were in the age group of 40-80 years and include five females and two males. The deceased belong to Civil Lines, Rajguru Nagar, Model Town, Dugri, Prem Nagar, Karamsar Colony and LIG Colony. Four patients were admitted to the PGI, Chandigarh. The positive cases today include five healthcare workers, four pre-operative cases, seven teachers and three students. The teachers who tested positive include two teachers from GNE College, one teacher from Manav Rachna International School Dugri, one teacher from PAU, one teacher from Amrit Indo-Canadian Academy, one teacher from BCM School Shastri Nagar and one teacher from Arya College. Three students who tested positive are from GNE College.

Today, 226 persons tested positive while four lost their lives to the virus. The total number of positive cases from Ludhiana district has reached 29,059 while 1,054 persons from the district have succumbed to the virus so far. Today’s positive cases include seven teachers and 14 students. The teachers who tested positive include one from the GHS, Shahpur Road, two from GMT Public School, Jalandhar Bypass, a teacher from Greenland Senior Secondary Public School, Jalandhar bypass, a teacher from Guru Nanak International Public School, Gujarkhan Campus, one teacher from DPS and another teacher from the BCM, Shastri Nagar.

Three deaths, 122 test +ve in Ludhiana

5611 Tribune News Service Ludhiana, March 10 Covid-19 has claimed the lives of three more persons in Ludhiana district during the past 24 hours. As many as 122 patients, including 14 students and six teachers, have tested positive for the virus here today. The six teachers tested positive include three from Government Senior Secondary School, Mangli Neechi, one each from the GSSS (Boys) at Jagraon, GSSS, Ladhowal (Koomkalan), and PCTE, Baddowal, in Ludhiana district. Besides, 14 students, including three students from the GSSS Lehal (near Maloud), one from Bal Bharti School, Dugri, three from Sarbatkari Vidya Mandir, Jagraon, six from Chanan Devi School, Jalandhar Bypass, and a student from GADVASU.

2288 Tribune News Service Ludhiana, March 8 Ninetytwo persons tested positive for Covid and two patients lost their lives to Covid in the district today. Total positive cases from Ludhiana have reached 27,924 while 1,038 have lost their lives to the virus so far. Those who tested positive today included two healthcare workers, a policeman, one pre-operative case, four teachers and three students. Four teachers who tested positive today belong to GNA College, GTB Hospital and College, Sargodha School Fatehgarh and GSSS, Phillaur. The students belonged to GADVASU, Nursing College, Kular, and SKS College, Sarabha. Now, there are 776 active cases in the district while 192 people were home quarantined today. Till now, 6,95,768 samples have been collected and reports of 3,501 are awaited.
