Fast freighters through the suburbs

Photo  -    Tales of the Footplate Revised by the Footplate Padre One of the articles I wrote as Footplate Padre for the On Track railway e-magazine was driving a freight train from Port Kembla to Sydney s Enfield good s yard. Enfield railway freight yard in the heart of Sydney s west saw trains come in, their wagons shunted into trains for various Sydney freight yard destinations and other trains made up for external trips either inter-state or to the various regional destinations. It was imperative that incoming train crews were conversant with the Enfield yard as one could very easily become lost. Trains came in and directed through any number of mazes of crossing lines and come to a stand at the direction of a shunter on the ground.

Tell Santa I Tried to Be Nice

Tell Santa I Tried to Be Nice Dr. James L. Snyder It’s that time of the year when the conversation around the dinner table in the Parsonage has to do with naughty or nice. I must admit it s not my favorite conversation because what is naughty, and what is nice? That all depends on who you re talking to. The Gracious Mistress of the Parsonage has a different definition of these words than I do. According to my wife, nice has to do with broccoli, and naughty has to do with Apple fritter. At least I can’t. I m afraid I have to disagree with this because as far as I m concerned, nice has to do with Apple fritter and naughty has to do with broccoli. I m not sure that you can get any naughtier than broccoli.

Darrell Maurice Coats

Darrell Maurice Coats, founder of Jan-Kay Ranch Christian Camps, Inc., went home to be with his Lord Jesus Christ on Dec. 28, 2020. Affectionately known as “Granddad” by his family and the thousands of youths who used Jan-Kay Ranch’s facilities over the past 50 years, Darrell and his wife, Jan, poured their love and lives into creating a place where church groups could find refuge from the city’s hustle-and-bustle, where people could slow down, disconnect and listen for Christ’s still quiet voice amidst North East Texas’ natural beauty. Darrell was born on July 24, 1933, in Houston, Texas, to Eugene and Donnie Mae Daniels Coats, and grew up in a two-bedroom home.
