PIERRE – Colin Adams’ three-run homer highlighted a seven-run second inning Saturday in the Pierre Trappers’ 7-5 win over the Hastings Sodbusters in the first game of a doubleheader at Hyde Stadium. Pierre couldn’t hold a 6-0 lead in the second game and lost to Hastings 7-6 in eight innings.
An error scored the first run in the Trappers’ big inning in the first game, followed by RBI singles by Richard Williams and Ty Stauss and Adams’ home run. Andrew Kim later had an RBI single. Jared Shelon was the winner in relief, with Mason Wells earning a save.

PIERRE – At times during their current losing streak, the Pierre Trappers had decent starts and early leads. Sioux Falls didn’t allow that Saturday.
The Sunfish scored five first-inning runs and two more in the second on their way to a 11-2 walk over the Trappers (9-23) at Hyde Stadium, Pierre’s seventh loss in a row.
Trappers started Jared Shelton (0-3) lasted only one inning, allowing five runs and four hits. Tanner Wilson drove in four runs for Sioux Falls. Andrew Kim hit an RBI single and Nicholas Strong had an RBI double for Pierre in a two-run ninth inning.
