AMARAVATI: Sri Ganapati Sachchithananda Swami ( Datta Peetham, Mysore) has contributed Rs 25 lakh to Chief Minister Relief Fund towards COVID containment measures.
Datta Peetham Executive trustee H V Prasad and Trust Member G V Prasad hand over the cheque to Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy at the camp office here on Wednesday. Endowments Minister Vellampalli Srinivas was present on the occasion.
Andhra Pradesh Health department released a bulletin on Wednesday where it stated that 12,768 new positive cases of Covid-19 were reported in a period of 24 hours as against 11,303 cases reported on Tuesday while 98 more patients died. The pandemic has claimed the lives of 11,132 so far.

The driver of a government ambulance was suspended for leaving a COVID patient s body in the outskirts of a village in Andhra Pradesh s Krishna district on Tuesday. According to the state health department, the deceased s wife requested the ambulance staff to drop the body at their village outskirts due to their financial status.
The deceased identified as Shaik Subhani (40) was a resident of Munukulla village in Tiruvuru Mandal of Krishna district, who had been suffering from fever for two days. On Tuesday morning, he went to Rajugudem Government Hospital for a COVID test and was detected positive.

Amaravati, May 6 : Andhra Pradesh Health Department has stated that research data compiled by the Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB) so far, doesn t establish that N440K is a variant of interest, and is virulent. The clarification comes in the wake of widespread concerns over the role of this particular variant in the spread of covid in the state currently.
Experts were worried that the N440K variant, discovered by the Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB), might be the reason why Covid patients condition, in Visakhapatnam and other parts of Andhra Pradesh, is going from bad to worse, in as few as three to four days.
