VIJAYAWADA: Education Minister Audimulapu Suresh has launched the maiden issue of Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE) e-bulletin. The initiative is expected to help students and academicians interested in understanding the changing scenario in higher education.
Speaking on the occasion, Suresh said the state government has taken up several initiatives such as redesigning the curriculum of engineering and conventional degree programmes, conducting online admission into degree programmes, establishing quality assurance cell to guide all higher education institutions towards assessment and accreditation by NAAC, with the help of APSCHE.
Office of International Affairs to be set up in all campuses
Shifting focus to internationalisation of higher education in the State, the government has asked the Vice-Chancellors of universities to establish an Office of International Affairs in the respective campuses.
“The move is in line with the National Education Policy-2020, which lays emphasis on expanding the global outreach of the higher education institutions by promoting India as a study destination and intensive academic and research collaboration with the higher educational institutions in foreign countries,” says K. Hemachandra Reddy, Chairman of the Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE).
Considering the importance of the issue, the University Grants Commission (UGC) has asked the universities to establish Office for International Affairs on their campuses.

APSCHE releases shedule for process
The Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE) has released the schedule for the second phase of admissions in degree colleges.
In a statement on Friday, Council Secretary B. Sudheer Prem Kumar said students can opt for fresh registrations and exercise of web options from February 6 to 10 in the second phase.
Candidates, who want admission in a better college, other than the one allotted under phase-I, could re-examine their options. He said the allotment made under phase-I would stand cancelled if a candidate was given another allotment under phase-II. Those who were not given any allotment under phase-I could exercise web options once again under phase-II, said Mr. Prem Kumar. Seat allotment would be made on February 14 and classes would commence on February 15.
