Jacksonville woman charged hospital insurance fraud Aflac

A Jacksonville woman has been charged with fraud while allegedly using fake hospital bills in order to obtain the insurance money from the payout.  Catelynn Nicolle Marstin, 31, of 404 S. Bridge Drive in Jacksonville is charged with eight counts of insurance fraud, four counts of obtaining property by false pretense and four counts of attempting to obtain property by false pretense, all of which are felonies.  Marstin is accused of filing fraudulent medical records from Onslow Memorial Hospital in order to obtain insurance claims payments from Aflac.  According to the arrest warrants, Marstin obtained $27,320 from Aflac as a result of the false claims and attempted to obtain an additional $34,675. The offenses occurred between July 10, 2018, and May 1, 2019.

Jacksonville Police cyber tip crimes against children arrest

A joint investigation and cyber tip led officers to the arrest of a man they say is accused of crimes against children.  Anthony Preston Littleton, 47, of 3 Rogers Avenue in Jacksonville, was arrested by the Jacksonville Police Department and charged with three felony counts of 2nd degree sexual exploitation of a minor. Littleton is currently detained in the Onslow County Jail under a $75,000 bond, according to a news release from JPD.  N.C. Courts has Littleton s first court appearance scheduled for Thursday morning in Onslow County District Court.  Officers say they recently received a cyber tip from the North Carolina Internet Crimes Against Children (NCICAC) Task Force. JPD Detective Jason Griess launched an investigation with the assistance of the NC State Bureau of Investigation and the Onslow County Sheriff’s Office regarding the tip.
