The reductions combined amount to about $950 for both a standard double room and a mid-level meal plan.
In December, Penn State President Eric Barron announced the revised academic calendar in light of surging COVID-19 cases and a state advisory to delay bringing students back for in-person classes. Trustees this week approved the resulting reduction.
As initially set, a standard double room was to cost $3,427 for the semester, and a midlevel meal plan would require $2,449 per semester, Penn State officials said. The total for both would have been $5,876 for the semester.
