A number of California lawmakers Tuesday officially asked for an audit to be conducted of the state s efforts to collect LGBTQ demographic health data. Since 2018, a number of California departments and agencies focused on health care and social services were to be collecting SOGI data after lawmakers enacted several pieces of legislation requiring that they do so.

As Tulare County gets increases of COVID-19 vaccinations from California, local health officials are urging eligible residents and workers to sign up for inoculations at the mass vaccination center at the International Agri Center in Tulare.
Beginning Tuesday, anyone who works or is employed in health care, emergency services, education and childcare, food and agriculture, and all residents age 65 and older who have not been able to secure a vaccination appointment elsewhere can make an appointment to get vaccinated at the Agri Center.
“With this increase in allocation, we urge all our eligible residents and workforce to not delay and get vaccinated as soon as possible,” said Dr. Karen Haught, Tulare County Public Health Officer. “This vaccine is our best line of defense against the COVID-19 virus, as we look to build immunity in our community, allowing us to safely lift restrictions on businesses, open schools, and ultimately bring this horrible pandemic to an end.
