Israel on Sunday set to kick off its Green Pass initiative, which gives those who had been fully vaccinated against coronavirus or recovered from the disease an ability to access leisure facilities and in the future mass events. This, however, has left some Israelis confused as to whether are eligible for the pass and how they can access it.

Health authorities said Monday that since the start of Israel s national coronavirus vaccination campaign less than two weeks ago, over 379,000 people have already been inoculated.
The Health Ministry said 100,000 people received the vaccine on Sunday alone, after hospitals were authorized to establish vaccination centers for the public in an effort to alleviate the heavy workload off of HMOs. So far, medical centers were allowed to vaccinate only members of staff.

Israel s coronavirus czar Prof. Nachman Ash said Wednesday that a third, nationwide coronavirus lockdown is inevitable, as the government met on the terms of such a closure.
Ministers were discussing a new lockdown from next week, including full shutdown of all trade and the education system, as the country saw daily infections soar to more than 3,000 and a 5.7% positivity rate for tests on Tuesday.
Edelstein orders hospitals to start vaccinating against coronavirus

Health Minister Yuli Edelstein on Wednesday instructed Health Ministry Director-General Prof. Hezi Levi to begin establishing vaccination centers in hospitals in order to speed up the inoculation campaign in the country.
Only HMOs are currently allowed to carry out vaccinations, resulting in long waiting periods.

The Health Ministry said Tuesday 3,594 people tested positive for coronavirus a day earlier, the highest the figure has been in months.
The ministry said that on Monday 86,857 tests had been conducted, putting the contagion rate at 4.2%.
