COVID-19 in Maharashtra: Decision on extending lockdown tomorrow, says health minister Rajesh Tope
Maharashtra health minister Rajesh Tope on Tuesday informed that the decision on extending lockdown in the state will be taken in the CM Uddhav Thackeray s review meeting slated to be held tomorrow.
He informed that the decision on extending the lockdown beyond May 15 up to May 31 will be notified after the meeting.

Maharashtra government currently has only 35,000 doses of Covaxin for administering second dose to those above 45 years old.
Maharashtra will stop COVID-19 vaccination through Covaxin for people in 18-45 age category and will use its stock of 3 lakh Covaxin doses to vaccinate people above 45 years of age amidst a shortage of vaccines.
There are about 5 lakh people above 45 years of age in Maharashtra who are awaiting the second dose for the want of the vaccine.

MUMBAI: Amid a shortage of COVID-19 vaccine does, the Maharashtra government on Tuesday decided to divert three lakh vials of Covaxin meant for the 18-44 age group for the use of the people aged 45 years and above.
Speaking to reporters, state Health Minister Rajesh Tope also said more than five lakh people above 45 years are awaiting the second dose for the want of the vaccine.
Amid a shortage of COVID-19 vaccine does, the Maharashtra government on Tuesday decided to divert 300,000 vials of Covaxin meant for the 18-44 age group for the use of the people aged 45 years and above. Speaking to reporters, state Health Minister Rajesh Tope also said more than 500,000 people above 45 years are awaiting the second dose for the want of the vaccine. Efficacy of the vaccine is largely affected if the second dose is not administered in a stipulated time. To avoid such health crisis, the state government has decided to divert three lakh vials (of Covaxin) purchased for the 18-44 age category for the people above 45 years, Tope said.
