NI Vaccination To Be Opened Up To 30-34-Year-Olds The vaccination programme in Northern Ireland is to be opened up to some 30 to 34-year-olds. Health Minister Robin Swann said there is limited availability for people in that age group. The appointments are mainly available at the SSE Arena in Belfast. Mr Swann said: It is worth remembering the progress that our vaccination programme has made in a relatively short period of time. In less than five months we have vaccinated almost one million people and thousands of our citizens have been able to receive the vaccine well ahead of schedule.

Hospitality and retail outlets reopen as NI takes major step out of lockdown

Northern Ireland has taken a major stride out of lockdown as many hospitality and retail outlets reopened their doors after four months of closure. Publicans, cafe owner and restaurateurs are now able to trade outdoors, while all non-essential retailers can pull their shutters up once again. There were long queues outside popular retail outlets such as Primark in Belfast from early on Friday morning as hundreds of shoppers returned to the city centre. As more economic wheels started turning, Health Minister Robin Swann announced that the region’s vaccine programme is now open to the 30-34 age group. Some limited appointments for people in that cohort will be available at the mass vaccination centre at Belfast’s SSE Arena.

Covid-19 Vaccine The vaccination programme in Northern Ireland has some limited availability for those aged 30 to 34 to book a Covid-19 vaccine. Appointments are mainly available at the vaccine centre at the SSE Arena in Belfast and those eligible will be able to book from 10am today. Subject to vaccine availability, participating community pharmacies will also be able to take appointments. Edwin Poots To Stand For DUP Leadership | Northern Ireland News, 30/04/2021

Agriculture Minister Edwin Poots is to stand for leadership of the DUP. The current leader, Arlene Foster, announced she is to step down as the party leader at the end of May and First Minister at the end of June. In a video posted on Twitter, Mr Poots said: I am a proud Northern Ireland man, I love its people and its place, and it faces many challenging times, it’s with that in mind, I m putting my name forward for the leadership for the Democratic Unionist Party. I look forward to the engagement and the debate with colleagues and the wider public in this contest.
