Expectant mothers have been delivered a huge baby bonus with the opening of a new Maternity Assessment Unit (MAU) as part of the $24.9 million expansion of the Osborne Park Hospital.
As part of the expansion project, the MAU will enhance the hospital and health care experience of thousands of northern suburban parents who require enhanced obstetric services.
The MAU consists of four built-for-purpose assessment rooms and three assessment bays for expectant mothers attending Osborne Park Hospital for birth.
Staffed by doctors and midwives seven days a week around the clock, the MAU provides a service for women who may have started labour or may require additional monitoring during their pregnancy.

In the meantime, anyone intending to return from these areas after midnight tonight must apply for a new travel permit through Service Victoria, get tested within 24 hours of returning to Victoria and self-quarantine at home for 14 days from when they last left the region.

Security at Western Australia s quarantine hotels will be bolstered after a review sparked by the escape of a woman who failed to complete 14 days in supervised isolation.
Acting Premier and Health Minister Roger Cook says the review s three recommendations will ensure the continued integrity of a system which has already catered for more than 30,000 people, including about 25,000 returned international travellers.
At the same time it was also revealed police had received more than 2000 complaints from guests unhappy with their treatment in the quarantine system.
