1. WIT vaccination centre opened today
The mass vaccination Centre at the W.I.T. Arena in Carriganore, Co Waterford opened to the general public today. The centre has been in use vaccinating those in medically vulnerable groups. Today the rollout to those in the 65-69 age group begins. Meanwhile speaking in the Dáil today, Health Minister Stephen Donnelly said there will be no recommendation on the use of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine until next week.

Ireland’s restaurants are calling on the government to scrap the 15-person limit for outdoor dining, asking for rules based on the size of the premises rather than the number of people.
The Restaurants Association of Ireland (RAI) has written to Health Minister Stephen Donnelly calling the outdoor dining rules “arbitrary” and asking for a different approach once the sector is allowed to open.

The European Commission has denied a claim by the Republic of Ireland s Health Minister Stephen Donnelly that it has started a legal case against AstraZeneca.
Mr Donnelly said: With regards to AstraZeneca, a legal case has been initiated by the Commission. Earlier this week, I have joined Ireland as one of the parties to that case, specifically around AstraZeneca s complete failure to meet its delivery contractual agreements for April, May and June.
