Nestlé to launch vegan KitKat in 2021 By Anthony Myers New KitKat is certified vegan, and made from 100% sustainable cocoa sourced through the Nestlé Cocoa Plan in conjunction with the Rainforest Alliance, company announced.
The plant-based option of the popular snack will have the perfect balance between crispy wafer and smooth chocolate that has been KitKat’s trademark since it was introduced by Rowntree’s in York in 1935.
Alexander von Maillot, Head of Confectionery at Nestlé, said:
One of the most common requests we see on social media is for a vegan KitKat, so we re delighted to be able to make that wish come true. I can t wait for people to be able to try this amazingly tasty new KitKat. This is a product for everyone who wants a little more plant-based in their life!

Rule Breaker Snacks was founded in 2015 by Nancy Kalish, a health coach and former health journalist with a serious sweet tooth. While sweet treats are supposed to be fun, for people with allergies or intolerances, it’s not.
Rule Breakers’ indulgent brownies and cake bites are made with clean ingredients that are free from the top 11 allergens, including gluten, dairy, eggs, sesame, soy, coconut and sesame, and no preservatives.
