Holidays: Spain has not been on the travel corridor for many months (Image: Express) A minimum fine of €3,000 may be issued to anyone who arrives in Spanish airports and ports from ‘risk’ countries without adequate evidence of a negative PCR, TMA or LAMP test.
However, the NHS should not be used for covid tests for travel purposes - you should arrange to take a private test.
Following the travel ban news, TUI announced their flights the Canaries were axed. We have currently cancelled Canary Islands holidays from England up to and including January 5 2021, said TUI. We’re in the process of proactively contacting impacted customers by departure date order.
This is the latest guidance for France, Spain, Italy, Greece and Portugal.
France
France is one of the countries which has banned UK flights.
The FCDO stated: France have announced they will be restricting travel from the UK from 24:00 (CET) on Sunday, 20 December, for a duration of 48 hours. This travel restriction will apply to air, car, ferry and train passengers. If you were due to travel to France please contact your travel operator. Further updates will be published when they are available. Please check our advice on things to consider, and be prepared to stay overseas longer than planned.
The country is also not on the travel corridor list so even if Britons could travel there they would still have to quarantine for 10 days on their return.

From travel corridor changes and quarantine to entry requirements and expensive COVID-19 tests, this year has brought an array of trials and tribulations when it comes to jetting off on holiday. Despite travel bans around the world, however, it seems Spain has held its place as a much-loved holiday hotspot for British tourists.

Michael Asher, Chairman & CEO at Better2Know Ltd, told Express.co.uk: Our Government has made it clear that NHS covid testing services are there for those with a clinical need for testing, and not for the pleasure traveller. We all need to play our part in taking pressure off our NHS, allowing it to focus on those who are ill and most in need.
Prices for private tests generally range between £100 and £150.
It is also mandatory for all passengers travelling to Spain to fill out and sign a Health Control Form 48 hours prior to travel.
