Opposition leader Kamla Persad-Bissessar has chided Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley for an “unimaginably shameful statement” posted on the Office of the Prime Minister’s Facebook page earlier today.
The post, which has since been deleted, made mention of the murder of 18-year-old Ashanti Riley and claimed “imps and agents” in Trinidad and Tobago and Venezuela have been spreading misinformation regarding the drownings of 20 Venezuelan nationals.
A subsequent apology read: “The previous post should have been written as two separate statements and was intended for publication on the Prime Minister’s personal social media account.
