WASHINGTON – The 2021 Presidential Inauguration will bring five days of special programming leading up to the swearing-in of President-elect Joe Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris.
The Presidential Inauguration Committee (PIC) announced Wednesday the official inaugural ceremonies, which will be smaller this year due to the pandemic, will to take place on Jan. 20 with Biden slated to take the oath of office at 11 a.m. Central, followed by Biden’s inaugural address.

Fort Bliss National Cemetery graves still adorned with holiday wreaths despite pandemic

EL PASO, Texas The Fort Bliss National Cemetery partnered with Wreaths Across America this past week to hold that traditional holiday wreath-laying ceremony, while also making several important changes this year to keep it a safe and socially distanced event.

The coronavirus pandemic forced Wreaths Across America to take on a new look for its annual tradition.
Each December since 1992, Wreaths Across America commits to laying wreaths at Arlington National Ceremony to Honor and Remember fallen veterans – an effort that expanded in 2007 to include more than 2,100 additional locations nationwide. Today we place these wreaths on these memorial stones and we remember, said Col. David Shoffner, a chaplain. The 2020 edition of the national effort went digital in some locations for health and safety. Film crews helped stream the event, allowing families to attend while remaining safe during the pandemic, according to an Army blog post.
Lone Oak Cemetery to honor veterans with Wreaths Across America

LEESBURG Remember the fallen. Honor those who serve. Teach the value of freedom.
This is the motto of the Wreaths Across America program. And on Saturday, thousands of wreaths will be placed on veterans’ graves throughout the country with that mission in mind.
The Lone Oak Cemetery at 306 Thomas Ave. in Leesburg will be one more than 2,100 cemeteries across nation to participate.
“This would have been our 10th year to hold a special ceremony but we’ve had to cancel the ceremony due to the coronavirus, but we didn’t want to let the graves go un-honored,” Glorianne Fahs said. “So we will still be putting out the wreaths and are inviting people to come by and remember those who served or grab a wreath and help place them.”
