A federal judge has sentenced an alleged member of the Lucchese crime family to nearly three years in prison for beating a former reality TV star s husband with a slapjack in return for a discounted wedding at The Brownstone in Paterson.
On Thursday, District Court Judge Kevin McNulty said Perna must serve a 30-month sentence, pay $17,816 in restitution and be subject to three years of supervised release, according to a statement from acting U.S. Attorney Rachael Honig.
Federal prosecutors said Perna and a member of his crew assaulted the victim, David Cantin, on July 18, 2015. As compensation, Manzo’s ex-husband, Thomas Manzo, promised Perna he would cut the price of a lavish wedding reception at The Brownstone, the West Broadway catering hall he co-owns.
