Equinor (NYSE: EQNR) has awarded Odfjell Drilling (FRA: OD3) a firm three-well contract forthe sixth-generation semi-submersible rig Deepwater Stavanger, Odfjell reported Wednesday.
The contract – expected to commence in the first quarter of 2022 – will run for an anticipated four-month duration, Odfjell noted in a written statement emailed to Rigzone. The drilling contractor added the dayrate will be similar to that of its Deepsea Aberdeen under the
15-firm-well Breidablikk contract, which is set to commence in the first half of next year.
“The Deepsea Stavanger’s contract includes a notable performance incentive rate which shall apply when wells are delivered safely and ahead of target,” Odfjell stated.
Odfjell Drilling has contracted the Deepwater Stavanger to Lundin Energy Norway.
Odfjell Drilling Ltd. (FRA: OD3) has signed a contract with Lundin Energy Norway (OTCMKTS: LNDNF) for the use of its Deepwater Stavanger semi-submersible rig, the drilling contractor reported Tuesday.
The contract duration covers three firm plus six optional wells, with an approximately US$33 million contractual value for the firm scope, Odfjell noted in a written statement emailed to Rigzone.
The number of potential firm wells within the drilling campaign and the contract value have increased since Odfjell reported its letter of intent (LOI) from Lundin in late-January. At the time, the drilling contractor anticipated one firm and eight optional wells with a firm scope ranging from US$11-14 million plus incentives,
