Troopers Investigating Multi Vehicle Commercial Crash
Vermillion Township – Troopers are investigating a minor injury crash involving two commercial trucks and a passenger car that occurred on Friday, January 22, 2021 at approximately 1923 hours on US Route 30 at State Route 511 in Ashland County.
A 1999 International semi-truck was traveling southbound on State Route 511 at US Route 30. The driver of the semi failed to yield from a stop sign while crossing over US Route 30 and was struck by a 1997 Freightliner semi-truck which was travelling eastbound on US Route 30. A 2013 Lexus RX was struck by the semi-trucks as a result of the crash while the driver was stopped at a stop sign on the southern side of State Route 511 facing northbound.
Sheriff s Office spreads holiday cheer through Kroc Center s Angel Tree

ASHLAND - The sheriff and staff at the Ashland County Sheriff’s Office were looking for a way to give back to the community this Christmas.
They decided to get involved with the Ashland Salvation Army Kroc Center s Angel Tree that had many children’s Christmas wishes on it.
The staff at the Sheriff s Office were able to raise approximately $3,500 to purchase gifts for 35 children on the Angel Tree and dropped off the gifts on Tuesday.

ASHLAND - Five people stood waiting in the parking lot of Union Lofts Apartments on Thursday afternoon, bundled to stay warm in the wintry chill. Chatting, they looked to the northeast, toward Sugarbush Drive, and they listened for sirens.
It was Ashlee Younce s 16th birthday, and she and her family were waiting for a special celebration to begin.
Just around the corner, in the parking lot of the Ashland Home Depot, family friend Patrick Buckley of Elyria was watching as vehicles assembled to parade past Ashlee s home.
Ashlee has end-stage renal failure, and is waiting for a kidney transplant from a deceased donor. In the meantime, her mother, Becki Younce, takes her to Akron Children s Hospital three times a week for dialysis an hour to get there, four hours at the hospital and another hour home.

ASHLAND COUNTY, Ohio (WOIO) - A 31-year-old Mansfield man is charged with inducing panic after threatening Loudonville police officers and causing the evacuation of a movie theatre.
Ashland County Prosecutor Christopher Tunnell said Rusty Allen Wisenbarger called the police department around 2 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 6.
Wisenbarger allegedly threatened to destroy the police station located in the 100 block of North Water Street.
Tunnell said because the police department is located in the same building as the Ohio Theater, which was showing a movie at the time, officers evacuated the building.
LOUDONVILLE A Mansfield man was charged Wednesday with a felony county of inducing panic after allegedly threatening the Loudonville Police Department, according to Ashland County Prosecutor Christopher Tunnell.
Rusty Allen Wisenbarger, 31, allegedly called Loudonville police Sunday at 2 p.m., making threats and indicating his intent to destroy the Loudonville Police station, which is located at 156 North Water Street, in the Village of Loudonville, the prosecutor said in an emailed press release.
The police department is located in the same building as the Ohio Theater, which was in the midst of showing a movie to patrons at the time of the call, Tunnell said.
