Itâll be the first time since 2016 that the âAussiesâ have been held in the region, with up to 7000 athletes expected to power through sand and surf at Coolum, Maroochydore, Alexandra Headland and Mooloolaba Surf Life Saving Clubs.
SLSAâs national competition manager Wayne Druery conducted a site inspection with local officials at Maroochydore on Thursday to finetune plans ahead of the championships from April 16-24.
âWeâre super excited,â Druery said.
âUnfortunately, we had to cancel last year justifiably due to Covid reasons and we canât wait for it get under way this year.
âItâs really exciting to be back on the Sunshine Coast, 2016 was an excellent championships and weâre super excited that we can make this one as equally exciting as well.â
