Mitchell Norton of the Wildcats drives to the key during the round 17 NBL match against New Zealand Breakers at RAC Arena in Perth.
New Zealand Breakers couldn’t replicate their upset win over Perth Wildcats a week previous, as their Australian National Basketball League playoff hopes took a further hefty jolt on Sunday. The Wildcats pulled away for a 98-84 victory at Perth’s RAC Arena, leaving the Breakers 9-18 and almost certain to miss the post-season. They travelled to Perth knowing they needed to win all their remaining 10 games to maintain a slim chance of reaching the playoffs, as they eye a run of seven straight at home starting in Auckland on May 20.
