MUSIGA signs insurance deal with SIC Life

By Mustapha Attractive MAY 6, 2021 The Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) has signed an agreement with SIC Life Company Limited for a group life insurance policy for its members nationwide. The ceremony took place yesterday at the offices of MUSIGA. The insurance package is to provide members of the Union who subscribe to the scheme with a comprehensive set of benefits when the need arises. These include death benefit, temporary or permanent disability payments, loss of spouse and critical illness benefits. According to the Acting President of MUSIGA, Bessa Simons, “This insurance scheme will ensure that members who sign on to the package will have protection in their time of need.”

Mark Okraku Mantey Named As Deputy Minister Of Tourism, Arts And Culture

  Ghanaian music producer Mark Okraku-Mantey has been nominated by the President, Nana Akufo-Addo, for the position of the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture. When approved by Parliament, he will deputise for Awal Mohammed, the substantive Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture. Mark Okraku-Mantey, who is the interim President of the Creative Arts Agency, is also the Head of Programme at Hitz FM. About Okraku Mantey Mark Okraku Mantey started music production in 1996 as the Chief Executive Officer of Slip Music. He worked with artistes such as Kojo Ashakan, Felix Bell, Ohene Kissi, Lord Kenya, Daasebre Gyamena, Adane Best, Akyeame, Okuraseni Samuel, Bless, and Kumi Guitar.

MUSIGA releases Covid-19 song featuring Kofi Kinaata, Celestine Donkor, Pat Thomas, others

+ The Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA)  has released a new song focused on creating awareness about the coronavirus and how to combat it. The song features many artists including Takoradi-based artiste, Kofi Kinaata, Gospel singer, Celestine Donkor, the Golden Voice of Africa, Pat Thomas, and multiple award-winning artiste, Amandzeba. Others include veteran highlife singer, Adane Best; ace SDA songsmith, Samuel Kofi Agyemang, and singer Paulina Oduro. The video also features scenes from across the country including the Northern Region and the Greater Accra Region. [embedded content] According to the acting MUSIGA President, Bessa Simons, the campaign is the Union’s contribution to the fight against the coronavirus.
