Among the bills passed in the last legislative session in Missouri is “The Second Amendment Preservation Act. Governor Parson signed the bill at the Frontier Justice gun store in Lee’s Summit. The ink barely dried on the governor’s signature when a lawsuit was filed by the City and County of Saint Louis challenging the constitutionality of the law.
The lawsuit filed in Cole County Circuit Court against the attorney general, Eric Schmidt, states in the introduction: “A recently enacted Missouri law, formerly known as HB 85 and HB 310 (collectively HB 85 ), was adopted as the latest step in ongoing efforts to nullify federal gun laws. HB 85, however, is unconstitutional under the United States and Missouri constitutions.” The lawsuit further states that its intent is not to infringe upon anyone’s right to bear arms. The Michigan Department of Natural Resources says that young Cooper s hawk as well as red-tailed hawks, which are in urban as well as suburban areas, says that they will be coming out more this month, and become familiar with their surroundings.
Young hawks will land on places like deck rails and fences after some of their first flights, which makes them easier to spot. But, you shouldn t be too concerned, they mean no harm you or your pets.
“While it may be alarming to see these hawks in your yard, they mean you and your pets no harm,” public outreach and engagement manager in the DNR Wildlife Division Holly Vaughn, said in a release.
