As of Wednesday, there were 15 active cases in Greenstone and surrounding First Nations. A breakdown of the communities was not immediately available, but on Tuesday there were seven cases in Longlac, seven in Long Lake # 58 First Nation, and two in the adjacent Ginoogaming First Nation.

(Leith Dunick, tbnewswatch.com) THUNDER BAY – Thunder Bay’s COVID-19 case count has grown by five and the death count has grown by two.  The two deaths are attributed to an ongoing outbreak at Southbridge Roseview nursing home.  The Thunder Bay District Health Unit on Thursday said three of the cases are considered close contact and two are pending. All five are considered to live in Thunder Bay and surrounding areas, which includes a number of nearby neighbouring communities, such as Oliver Paipoonge and Conmee Township.

The Thunder Bay District Health Unit on Thursday announced nine new cases, bringing the region’s total to 409 since March. The exposure category in seven of the cases is listed as close contacts with other cases. One is travel-related and the other is no known exposures. Five of the cases are in people younger than 20, four females and one male. St. Martin Elementary School on Wednesday announced three more people associated with the school had been sent home, leading to three full cohorts being sent home.
