4 more law schools found to be in compliance with ABA s new bar passage standard
In May, the ABA found 10 law schools did not meet an accreditation standard requiring a bar passage rate of at least 75% within two years of graduation; but as of February, six have now demonstrated compliance.
Those four join Florida Coastal School of Law and the University of the District of Columbia David A. Clarke School of Law, which received compliance notifications in August.
“We are very delighted. We worked very hard to accomplish that goal,” Jace C. Gatewood, the dean of Atlanta’s John Marshall Law School, told the ABA Journal.
Puerto Rican manatee rescue center serving as model for all of Latin America 3 minutes read
San Juan, Feb 19 (efe-epa).- The Puerto Rico Manatee Conservation Center has become a model facility in the Caribbean and throughout Latin America for the recovery of those marine mammals, and the rehabilitation work conducted there has recently been extended to turtles and sea birds.
The center’s director, Antonio Mignucci, told Efe on Friday that since its founding in 2009 it has both assisted with the recovery of individual manatees and advised Caribbean and Latin American countries on the conservation of this species, whose numbers have fallen to between 500 and 700 in Puerto Rico due to the constant threat posed by human beings.

HANCOCK TRIO Pre-College Programs, hosted by Finlandia University, was selected to participate in the STEAM National Saturday Academy pilot program in Spring 2021. The pilot program was created by TRIO professionals Aaron Cortes Minor (Northeastern Illinois University), Adam Low (University of Alaska – Fairbanks) and Maru Luna (Inter American University of Puerto Rico) with the purpose of testing a remote learning strategy for Saturday program activity that fosters student engagement, active participation, capacity building, academic and personal growth, and resume building for post-secondary enrollment.
An invitation to the pilot program was extended in early December to 20 TRIO programs across the country, including the TRIO Pre-College Programs at Finlandia. Each program can invite five to 10 students from their programs with a strong interest in STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, math) and social justice.
