Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Pir Noorul Haq Qadri has said the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has not yet taken a final decision about the number of pilgrims and SOPs (standard operating procedures) for Hajj 2021.
In a video statement on Sunday, he said that Saudi Minister for Hajj and Umrah in a telephonic conversation with him had confirmed that Hajj policy 2021 had not been finalised and media reports about the number of pilgrims were mere recommendations from the Saudi Ministry of Health.
Shafqat Mehmood chairs NCOC meeting to decide closure of schools

ISLAMABAD: Federal Education Minister Shafqat Mehmood is chairing a meeting at the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) to discuss the current COVID-19 situation with all the health and education ministers, the education ministry said in a tweet on Tuesday. The NCOC meeting will take stock of the pandemic situation in the country and decide the fate of schools, it said.
The third wave of coronavirus has wreaked havoc in the country with the daily caseload exceeding 5,000. The number of active cases has more than tripled in the last few weeks.

ISLAMABAD: The federal minister for religious affairs said on Sunday that an inquiry was being conducted into alleged blasphemous slogans raised at last week’s Aurat March.
In a statement, Minister for Religious Affairs and Inter-Faith Harmony Pir Noorul Haq Qadri said that Pakistan is a country of lovers of the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) and no one could be allowed to pass blasphemous remarks.
He said the government was trying to reach the truth regarding some contents/video clips being circulated on social media, adding that those involved in the practice would be unmasked and cases would be filed against them.

“It (criminal justice system) is the most important sector and, therefore, we want to bring reforms in it,” he said while addressing launching ceremony of an online system for issuance of letters of administration and succession certificates.
