COVID causing uptick in local population, traffic
December 20, 2020WOLFEBORO According to Police Chief Dean Rondeau, Covid-19 has brought about an increase in traffic and population, a result of people choosing to live in their seasonal residences. Reporting to the Wolfeboro Police Commission on Nov. 19, Rondeau said he has seen many out-of-state plates as well as an increase in weekend traffic.
October was a busy month for police investigation and follow up on major cases, said Rondeau, with 57 incidents, 95 offenses, 30 arrests, and 13 accidents logged. Officers conducted 221 traffic stops and issued 18 tickets.
He offered reports on police prosecutions and from the School Resource Officer and Detective Shane Emerson.

DENVER, Co. (WVIR) - A former House of Delegates candidate from Catlett, Virginia has been arrested after allegedly kidnapping a 12-year-old girl in Fresno, California.
Nathan Daniel Larson, 40, was taken into custody at Denver International Airport, where the child was rescued unharmed. Larson faces a misdemeanor charge in Denver for harboring a minor, but five felony charges in Fresno related to the incident: kidnapping, child abduction, soliciting child pornography from a minor, and meeting a child for the intention of sex.

MARSHALL, TEXAS] On Thursday, Dec. 17, a Harrison County grand jury handed down an indictment for possession of child pornography.
Juan Flores, 48, of Marshall, was indicted for one count of possession of child pornography, a third-degree felony.
According to the indictment, Flores allegedly possessed child pornography. The indictment says that Flores intentionally and knowingly possessed visual material that he knew depicted a child who was younger than age 18.
This indictment comes after a thorough joint investigation by the Marshall Police Department, Texas Department of Public Safety, and the Longview Police Department.

WILLIAMSBURG â The Kentucky State Police Electronic Crime Branch arrested Hobert Lee Elswick, 48, on charges related to child sexual abuse material on Thursday.
Elswick was arrested as the result of an undercover Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) investigation. The KSP Electronic Crime Branch began the investigation after discovering the suspect uploading images of child sexual exploitation online.
The investigation resulted in the execution of a search warrant at a residence in Williamsburg on Thursday. Equipment used to facilitate the crime was seized and taken to KSPâs forensic laboratory for examination. The investigation is ongoing.
