The Court of Appeal today upheld the RM10,000 fine imposed by the High Court on a road bully, known as “Abang Botak”, for smashing the windscreen of a car with his crash helmet, after the prosecution withdrew its appeal.
The prosecution had appealed against the RM10,000 fine meted out by the High Court against Danial Abdullah Tan, 33, who was initially sentenced by the Petaling Jaya Magistrate’s Court to 12 years’ jail for the offence.

PUTRAJAYA (Bernama): The Court of Appeal has upheld a RM10,000 fine imposed by the High Court on a road bully known as Abang Botak after the prosecution withdrew its appeal over the sentence.
The prosecution had appealed against the RM10,000 fine meted out by the High Court against Danial Abdullah Tan, 33, who was initially sentenced to 12 years jail for the offence by the Petaling Jaya Magistrate s Court.
A panel of three judges, led by Judge Datuk Abdul Karim Abdul Jalil, dismissed the prosecution s appeal on Friday (Jan 8) after deputy public prosecutor Faizah Mohd Salleh informed the court that the prosecution had filed a notice to withdraw the appeal on Nov 17 last year.

ALAM: Celebrity preacher Da’i Syed, whose real name is Syed Shah Iqmal Syed Mohammad Shaiful, who was charged with committing unnatural sex and molest at the Petaling Jaya Magistrate’s Court and Sessions Court today, faces another charge of raping a woman at the Sessions Court here.
Syed Shah Iqmal, 25, pleaded not guilty to raping the 23-year-old woman in a room in a condominium in I-City, Section 7 here at about 11.35 pm on Sept 11 last year. He is charged under Section 376 (1) of the Penal Code, which provides for imprisonment for up to 20 years and whipping if found guilty.
