Threat Of COVID-19 Third Wave Ruins Europeâs Christmas Vacation
Nations including Germany, Italy and France are moving to tighten restrictions amid fears of a third coronavirus peak.

As pressure builds on the British government to reverse plans to relax coronavirus rules during the holiday season, other countries across Europe are rapidly rethinking their own plans in the face of a looming COVID-19 third wave.
The whole government is “pushing in the same direction” for the economic relaunch of the country, said Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte, though coalition partner Italy Alive, led by former PM Matteo Renzi, has asked for a meeting to discuss postponing the recovery plan’s coordination.
“Prime Minister Conte summoned the parties in the majority. A night-time blitz to approve a document which was not appreciated by anyone and a task force that could replace the government and the parliament was officially blocked. I asked for this in parliament and now everyone agrees with Italy Alive”, said Renzi.
Prime Minister Conte said: “It’s understandable that until the plan is not defined there will be tensions and anxiousness”. “It’s a great, historical occasion. The plan will be national and it will not be managed arbitrarily. Everyone will be able to check the status of every project on the website of the presidency,” he added.

‘Mother – woman, father – man’ constitutional amendment passes. The Hungarian parliament approved on Tuesday amendments to the constitution that proclaim, among other things, that “the mother is a woman, the father is a man.”
It also now states that “Hungary protects the right of children to self-identity according to their sex at birth and provides an upbringing in accordance with the values based on Hungary’s constitutional identity and Christian culture.” On the same day, parliament also passed a bill that mandates that single people need a special ministerial permission to adopt someone.
