Pakistan Rejects Indian Ministrys Malicious Statement Over ATC Conviction

Pakistan dismisses US suggestion to do more on conviction of LeT leader - World

Pakistan dismisses US suggestion to do more on conviction of LeT leader The Foreign Office emphasised Pakistan s commitment to its international obligations and advised the US to focus on execution of terrorist activities by India . Photo courtesy Radio Pakistan/File Pakistan on Sunday hit back at the United States State Department for suggesting Islamabad needed to do more to hold Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) leader Zakiur Rehman Lakhvi accountable, instead asking Washington to reserve its concern for the financing and execution of terror activities by India. The Foreign Office (FO) rejoinder on Twitter came in response to a statement issued by the US State Department s Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs after the conviction of Lakhvi, a key leader of the banned LeT, on a charge of terror financing by a Lahore anti-terrorism court.

Pakistan rebukes Indian claims on Lakhvi s conviction

Pakistan rebukes Indian claims on Lakhvi s conviction India has no locus standi to comment on the independent judicial mechanisms of Pakistan, says FO ISLAMABAD: Pakistan on Saturday categorically rejected what it termed the malicious statement by the Indian Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) which accused Islamabad for holding farcical trials of UN-designated individuals to avoid blacklisting by FATF. The reaction came after India questioned the timing of conviction a Lahore Anti-Terrorism that sentenced Zakiur Rehman Lakhvi, leader of proscribed organisation Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), to five years imprisonment and a fine of Rs300,000 in a terrorism financing case. India has no locus standi to comment on the independent judicial mechanisms of Pakistan. In this regard the only ‘compliance’ that interests Pakistan is abiding by its own statutes and fulfilment of its international obligations, a statement issued by the Foreign Office said.
