Maqbool Butt s martyrdom day: Shutdown in IIOJ&K today

National February 11, 2021 ISLAMABAD: Complete shutdown will be observed today (Thursday) to mark the 37th martyrdom anniversary of prominent Kashmiri leader, Muhammad Maqbool Butt in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJ&K).Call for the shutdown had been given by the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC), Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front and other pro-freedom organisations, Kashmir Media Service reported. India had hanged Muhammad Maqbool Butt in New Delhi’s Tihar Jail on 11th February in 1984 for his leading role in the Kashmiris’ ongoing freedom movement and buried him in the premises of the prison. Indian authorities have not returned the mortal remains of the martyred leader to his family for proper burial despite consistent demand by the people of the occupied territory. SRINAGAR (Dunya News) – In Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Indian troops in their fresh act of state terrorism, martyred a 60-year-old Kashmiri in Baramulla district. Indian troops killed the aged Kashmiri, Sarfraz Ahmad, during a violent military operation in Uri area of the district. Soon after the information, a team of Uri police rushed to the spot and recovered the body. The victim was later laid to rest in an Indian army-run graveyard in Uri where thousands of Kashmiris killed by the troops have been buried in the past.

The Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) General Nadeem Raza presided over the meeting which was attended by the Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa, the Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Muhammad Amjad Khan Niazi, the Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Mujahid Anwar Khan and Senior Officers from the Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Defence Production and Tri-Services. The forum discussed the emerging regional geo-strategic environment including the fast-paced developments in the realm of strategic and conventional policies/doctrines and operational preparedness of the armed forces.

Pakistan disappointed over US State Department’s Tweet about Kashmir - ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Foreign Office has expressed disappointment over the tweet by the US Department of State regarding the resumption of 4G mobile internet in the Indian Occupied Kashmir. “We are disappointed to note the reference to Jammu and Kashmir in the US Department of State’s tweet regarding the resumption of 4G mobile internet in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK),” the Foreign Office Spokesperson Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri said while responding to media queries on Thursday. The Spokesperson said that the reference is inconsistent with the disputed status of Jammu and Kashmir as recognized by numerous United Nations Security Council (UNSC) resolutions and the International Community.
