Teesta Treaty has become an internal challenge for India: Doraiswamy Indian envoy Dhaka, Feb 15 (UNI) Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Vikram Kumar Doraiswamy on Monday said that the Teesta agreement is not being signed due to differences between the West Bengal government and the Indian government over Teesta. He made the remarks while participating in the Decab Talk organised by the Diplomatic Correspondents Association Bangladesh at the National Press Club today. The Indian High Commissioner said it was unfortunate that the Teesta treaty was not signed. The Teesta Treaty has become an internal challenge for India. We are working on this agreement. PTI file Tribune News Service New Delhi, February 14 On Valentine’s Day, about two dozen Indian diaspora organisations launched an initiative for extending support to protesting farmers by tweeting or sending a rose to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The organisers urged sympathisers and members to send a rose to Indian missions in their respective regions to express their solidarity with the Indian farmers. “We would like to express our unwavering solidarity with the farmers in India and to draw attention to their non-violent protest braving harsh weather conditions and repressive measures for over two months,” the Global Indian Diaspora, a coalition of progressives, said in a joint statement.
