Indiana reports 295 new COVID-19 cases, six more deaths

The Indiana State Department of Health on Wednesday reported 295 new COVID-19 cases, marking the 26th straight daily report with fewer than 500 cases. Daily cases haven’t topped 300 since June 12.
The department reported six new deaths from COVID-19, increasing the cumulative death tally at 13,426. The state has averaged two deaths a day over the past seven days.
Statewide hospitalizations due to COVID-19 rose from 407 on Monday to 408 on Tuesday. Hospitalizations are down from a recent high of 1,019 on May 4. The pandemic-high mark was 3,460, set on Nov. 30.
The state said more than 2.81 million Hoosiers have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19. More than 2.8 million had received the first dose of a two-dose vaccination.
