Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi on Wednesday thanked Iranian President Hassan Rouhani for supporting Prime Minister Imran Khan’s border markets initiative, stressing that this will benefit people living on both sides of the Pak-Iran border.

Foreign minister emphasizes need to strengthen people-to-people linkages at meeting with U.A.E. counterpart during official visit
Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi on Monday thanked the U.A.E. for rolling over a $2 billion loan of the Abu Dhabi Fund, stressing that this decision reflected the warm and brotherly ties between the two countries.
Qureshi met his U.A.E. counterpart, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, at the conclusion of a three-day official visit to the Gulf state during which he met the Pakistan Business Council, members of the Pakistani community, including investors and businessmen, and interacted with local and international media in Abu Dhabi and Dubai. He also visited the World Expo 2020 and reviewed the Pakistan pavilion being set up to showcase the potential of Pakistan, according to a statement issued by the Foreign Office.
ISLAMABAD: Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Sunday condemned the police action against the activists of the recently-banned Tehreek-i-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) in Lahore and termed it a “state brutality”.
Speaking at a news conference at his residence in Islamabad, the JUI-F leader alleged that the injured TLP activists were not being shifted to hospitals and they did not have access to ambulances. He said his party considered the PTI and its ministers as “terrorists” and it would continue its struggle till the ouster of this government.
“It seems that things are now slipping out of the hands of the state forces,” the Maulana said, adding they would not tolerate such scenes and would not make any compromise on Namoos-i-Risalat.

ISLAMABAD: Amid reports that the United Arab Emirates has been mediating between India and Pakistan for reducing fears of a conflict in South Asia for the past few months, Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi embarked on a three-day official visit to the Gulf state on Saturday.
During the visit, the foreign minister will meet his counterpart Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan and other UAE dignitaries. He will also meet members of Pakistani diaspora and interact with local and international media.
