Trained Ayush professionals to be inducted for Covid management

New Delhi, May 7 : Continuing with its efforts to augment human resources for the management of Covid-19 cases, the Central government on Friday issued an advisory for induction of trained Ayush human resources for clinical management of the virus infection.
The decision to deploy Ayush (ayurveda, yoga, unani, sidhant and homeopathy)professionals on the frontlines of the Covid war is in continuation of decisions taken a few days back to boost availability of medical personnel to fight the pandemic such as postponement of the NEET-PG Exam, giving priority to medical personnel completing 100 days of Covid duties in forthcoming regular government recruitments, and deployment of medical interns in covid management duties under the supervision of their faculty.

New Delhi: Responding to the need for fresh guidelines amid the second wave of COVID-19 pandemic, the Ministry of Ayush has released revised guidelines for Ayurveda and Unani practitioners for COVID-19 patients in home isolation and Ayurveda and Unani preventive measures for self-care.
In a media release, the ministry said the main focus of the guidelines is on self-care and home management of COVID-19, as the vast majority of COVID-affected families in the country are forced to negotiate the pandemic out of hospitals.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate country s first ever All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA), modeled on the lines of AIIMS on Tuesday, which will be observed as Ayurveda Day.
Set up on a total area of 10.015 acres on a budget of Rs 157 crore, the institute aims to focus on fundamental research of Ayurveda, drug development, standardization, quality control, safety evaluation and scientific validation of Ayurvedic medicine.

Centre on Tuesday informed that 2,105 more beds have been added to the Central govt Hospitals for COVID patients in Delhi.
Out of the 2,105 beds, 1,875 are oxygen beds and 230 are ICU beds.
New Delhi: The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Tuesday (April 20, 2021) informed that 2,105 more beds have been added to the Central Government Hospitals for COVID-19 patients in Delhi.
Out of the 2,105 beds, 1,875 are oxygen beds and 230 are ICU beds that have added to the hospitals including Safdarjung Hospital, Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, Lady Hardinge Medical College, AIIMS Delhi, AIIMS Jhajjhar, ESIC Okhla, ESIC Jhilmil, and All India Institute of Ayurveda in Sarita Vihar.
