Singer Armaan Malik has stepped up in support of students facing grade 12 exams amidst India’s COVID-19 health crisis.
The singer has appealed to authorities to cancel the exams, citing the current scenario making it difficult for students to sit for their papers.
“I am in support of all students across boards who are being asked to appear for examinations during these dire times. It’s unfair and inhuman to expect anyone to be giving exams like this!!,” Malik wrote on Twitter.
“I have no clue how the education setup is working currently in this scenario and maybe I don’t have accuracy in what I am talking about.. but I just feel for the students who have to go out there and give exams under such messed up conditions. That’s all,” the singer added.

A section of students and parents have been demanding cancellation of Class 12 board exams in view of the COVID-19 pandemic situation. Speculations were rife that a decision in this regard could be taken at a meeting chaired by Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal today. However, there has been no decision so far.Â
Raising concerns of the students, the India Wide Parents Association, spearheaded by Anubha Shrivastava Sahai, wrote a letter to Prime Minister s Office on Monday. She suggested that students be assessed and evaluated via internal assessment. Sahai, a lawyer and child rights activist, voiced against postponement of the exams as it could cause further anxiety, mental stress and depression among students . Â

NEW DELHI: Amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the fate of lakhs of students is also hanging when it comes to their CBSE, CISCE board exams.
Meanwhile, as per the latest reports, the chances of examination getting scrapped is showing a clear sign with the passing of each day.
It is to be mentioned here that, India Wide Parents Association (IWPA) has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi seeking cancellation of the examinations due to the rising coronavirus cases in the country.
