Siemens awarded contract to increase capacity at Incheon Airport Primary tabs 23rd April 2021 The company plans to implement the latest VarioTray technology, whilst extending the existing system by 3,000 spaces Leaders in sorting technology and solutions, Siemens Logistics has won a contract for a large-scale expansion of the baggage handling system in Terminal 2 at South Korea’s Incheon Airport. The agreement is set to increase capacity at the hub. The firm is also responsible for the technical project management, layout design and software solutions. In addition, new equipment will be integrated into the current framework. High-throughput VarioTray conveyor technology will be implemented in Terminal 2, with the aim of enhancing the transportation process. For the final stage, several VarioSort TTS tilt tray sorters – that are more than three kilometres in length – will be installed.
