More cyber-attack victims in S pore last year: Survey

More people in Singapore fell prey to cyber criminals last year, such as through having their online accounts hacked, according to a new government survey. And even though more people are now aware of the dangers and consequences of cyber attacks, such as in ransomware which locks up files until the hackers are paid, many still think they are unlikely to be targeted and victimised. Nearly four in 10 people here, or 37 per cent, reported being victims of at least one cyber-security incident last year, according to findings from the Cyber Security Agency of Singapore s (CSA) Cybersecurity Awareness Survey released yesterday.
