Fort McMurray’s active total of COVID-19 cases are continuing to rise.
The province announced on Sunday 1,516 new cases across the province.
There are currently 17,935 active cases across Alberta, while there have been a total of 170,795 positive tests. There are also 451 Albertans in the hospital for the virus, 103 of which are in ICUs.
Locally, Fort McMurray added 66 new cases and 20 recoveries which raises the active total to 752.
The rural areas saw no changes, keeping the total of active cases at 19.
Wood Buffalo National Park remains at zero active cases.

Clark County firefighters had to deal with a 60 pound African cat called a serval while battling a house fire in Felida on Sunday.
When firefighters arrived, the homeowner was trying to put out the fire in the back of the house.
The African cat was inside of the home and bit one of the firefighter s fingers.
After putting the fire out, they kept the cat inside until animal control and the homeowner could contain the animal and take it outside.
The firefighter wasn t seriously injured.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
