Portland Police are investigating the death of a man in an officer involved shooting at Lents Park.
Portland Police say around 9:30 a.m., East Precinct officers responded to a call at Lents Park of an adult white male pointing a gun.
Officers arrived and contacted a subject in the park. During the encounter, less lethal 40 mm and lethal rounds were deployed. Two officers deployed 40 mm rounds and one officer used lethal force.
Medical personnel were staged nearby. Officers provided emergency medical aid, but the male subject was pronounced deceased at the scene.
None of the officers was injured during the incident and there are no known additional injured parties.

Prince Charles was visibly overcome with grief as he joined the solemn procession behind his father s coffin early today (NZ time).
A tear rolled down the face of the 72-year-old as he led senior family members behind the Land Rover transporting Prince Philip on his final journey.

Both the Fort McMurray Public School Division and the Catholic School District are moving select grades to virtual learning.
Beginning April 19, grades 7 to 12 will be switching to online learning until April 30th.
A joint application for the move was made to the Ministry of Education on Thursday due to the continual increase of COVID-19 numbers and staff and students in isolation.
“We all agree in school is the best place for learning, but the overall COVID-19 numbers in Fort McMurray right now are very worrisome,” said George McGuigan, FMCSD Superintendent.

Kiwi golfer Lydia Ko has again put herself in position for her first win in three years, shooting a seven-under third round today to take a one-stroke lead into the final round of the Lotte Championship.
Nelly Korda, who went back and forth with Ko for the lead throughout the third round, finished with a 63 and was one shot back. Ko pushed ahead one last time by rolling in the last of her seven birdies on the par-four 18th.
