Alcohol major problem for woman who assaulted paramedic, police, nurse

Premium Content Subscriber only A woman who assaulted a paramedic, a nurse and a police officer in separate incidents later said that she had a major problem with alcohol consumption. Nearly three years after the first of the drunken incidents, Christine Gillies went before Ipswich Magistrates Court for sentence. Christine Estelle Gillies, 41, from Atkinsons Dam, pleaded guilty to nine offences including two charges of serious assault/resist public officers while adversely affected by an intoxicating substance; serious assault public officer performing public function by spitting when adversely affected; assaulting a police officer; contravene a police direction; possession of dangerous drugs; possession of drug utensils; and committing public nuisance.

Date Time Drugs and lab located at Ipswich Police have charged three people following the seizure of drugs and a clandestine drug lab at an Ipswich residence over the weekend. As part of a drug trafficking operation, detectives from the Crime and Intelligence Command’s Organised Crime Gangs Group executed five search warrants on Saturday (May 8) at premises in Ipswich, North Stradbroke Island and Cleveland. During a search of a Murphy Street Ipswich address, investigators located a commercial pill press and illicit laboratory equipment suspected of being used to produce MDMA. Approximately 60 pills suspected to be MDMA were also located at same address.

It is alleged officers located a commercial pill press and illicit laboratory equipment suspected of being used to produce MDMA during the search of a Murphy St address on Saturday. About 60 pills suspected to be MDMA were also located inside the home. Specialist officers from the Illicit Laboratory Investigation Team (ILIT) and Ipswich District reportedly attended the home to remove the items. A Queensland Police spokesman said the raid was conducted as part of a larger drug trafficking operation across South East Queensland.

Laundry marijuana crop was for anxiety treatment

Appearing before Ipswich Magistrates Court, the offender Nicholas Joseph Harvey, 33, a delivery driver, pleaded guilty to producing dangerous drugs at Rosewood; possession of dangerous drugs; possession of drug utensils; possession of anything used in a drug offence; and driving when drug positive. Prosecutor Sergeant Molinaro said police went to Harvey’s house on January 13 last year and discovered 21 plants on the washing machine and 12 more in a laundry cupboard. The plants were about 53cm high, except for one that had reached about one metre.
