London man charged with controlling county drugs line in to Bury St Edmunds – RWSfm 103 3

Posted on Police have arrested and charged a man with drug offences linked to Bury St Edmunds. Officers from the Met police arrested a man on Tuesday 4 May in London as part of Operation Orochi and he was taken to Martlesham Police Investigation Centre for questioning. Kasende Kasongo, aged 29 and from Grosvenor Road in London, was charged with being concerned in the supplying cocaine and being concerned in the supply of heroin, both between 12 September 2020 and 5 May 2021 in Bury St Edmunds and Basildon in Essex, as well as a third charge of possession of cannabis. He was remanded to appear before Ipswich Magistrates Court this morning (6 May) where he was further remanded.

Alleged police stalker fails in bail bid

Russell Gordon Haig Mathews, from Booval, appeared from jail via video-link before Ipswich Magistrates Court on Wednesday to make his application, citing his fear of catching COVID-19 while on remand. Mathews is charged with unlawfully stalking a senior court registrar between January 1 and February 2 this year; three charges of stalking police; contravening an order about electronically stored information; and failing to appear at court on December 11 last year. Mathews is defending the charges based on his held belief that he was exercising his right to freedom of political communication.

An Ipswich court heard Kalumbwa Rashidi delivered a series of blows to police dog Cozza in the pre-dawn mayhem, after hearing a noise outside and discovering the dog had a hold of his son s arm. Kalumbwa Rashidi, 45, from Redbank Plains, appeared before Ipswich Magistrates Court on Thursday and pleaded guilty to injuring a police dog at Redbank Plains on December 4, 2019. In evidence put by police prosecutor Jack Scott the incident occurred at 3.50am after police were called to the neighbourhood to investigate a report of an assault and attempted car stealing.

Ipswich Magistrates Court heard when the offending driver James Carvosso was later breath tested, he was more than double the normal limit. The magistrate scolded Carvosso, saying that at 35 he was too old to be doing the type of stupid things that were usually associated with teenagers. James Robin Carvosso, a trainee cook from Lowood, pleaded guilty to dangerous operation of a motor vehicle when adversely affected by an intoxicating substance at Lowood on Sunday October 11 last year; and drink driving.

The 20-year-old, who the Bulletin cannot name for legal reasons despite him being an adult, has breached bail 13 times since he was released from custody by the Supreme Court in March 2020, the Bulletin can reveal. In the Beenleigh Magistrates Court on Tuesday, the man was jailed for 21 days for breaching curfew on April 30. The offence also triggered a suspended sentence he was given days earlier in the Ipswich Magistrates Court for breaching bail.
