Bob Rodgers of the Evangel World Prayer Center in Louisville delivered the prayer during a Sunday church service. Father, those that have lied, those that have stolen this election, those that have cheated, I place the curse of God upon them, Rodgers said during the televised service, as reported by WDRB. I curse you with weakness in your body. I curse you with poverty. I curse you with the worst year you ve ever had in the name of the Lord.

(TNN) - A Duncan church has started a clothes closet for foster families in need. Fostering Love Duncan operates out of Immanuel Baptist Church and provides clothes and hygiene items for foster kids of all ages. It runs completely off of donations from people and other organizations across the community. The foster closet opened in March of 2020 and so far, about 30 families have been able to use their service, including one just last week.

Update: Funeral arrangements have now been set for former Corbin and Williamsburg head football coach Archie Powers. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour at Immanuel Baptist Church in Corbin on Saturday. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. at the church. Following the service he will be laid to rest in Emlyn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Williamsburg and Corbin athletic programs to help continue supporting our local athletes. Let’s face it, COVID-19 is going to be the top story on pretty much every top 10 list everywhere. Given that 2020 is a year unlike any others, the staff of the News Journal has decided to do a top 10 list unlike any other. With in-person classes canceled for the rest of the school year, and traditional graduations not possible because of COVID–19, local residents tried to help seniors make this a special year by placing signs on the north end of downtown Corbin celebrating the Corbin seniors in May. Williamsburg and Whitley County had similar efforts.
